The Two Project Management Apps We're Currently Evaluating

At Coveted Financial, we are no stranger to working remote. In fact, it’s been part of our business model since day one. Outside of the time we spend at our client’s offices, we complete the remainder of our work at our own homes. In the past we’ve utilized email and the One Drive to organize our files and communicate to one another. While this system works, we believe in the power of technology for increased efficiency. Therefore, we’re evaluating two of the most common project management apps to implement at our own firm: Asana and monday.com.

Before we dive into the comparison of the two tools, first let’s identify the overall benefits of a project management program. Think of these applications as giant whiteboards that outline ALL of your companies tasks. Now connect those tasks to team members, add project-specific notes and documents, and include a timeline. Pretty quickly your whiteboard looks like a giant web with no clear picture on the overall progress of each task, let alone accountability! WIth a project management software, projects are neatly organized in their own “spaces” with associated tasks, team members, deadlines, documents, in-app communication and more.

When all of the associated “items” are in one spot, it is more efficient for employees to stay on task and maximize their time. They don’t have to refer back to emails or search for related documents. Plus, managers can track the progress of projects and evaluate employee workloads or potential bottlenecks.

Another benefit of project management tools is their capacity to integrate with other applications your team already uses or could benefit from. For instance, a time management tool like Clockify, which tracks time spent on projects by each team member, can integrate with the tool. This is great if your business can bill for those hours or if you’re evaluating employee workloads. Other common integrations are email and online document storage, like Dropbox or Google Drive.

Lastly, both apps are completely cloud-based, which means you can log in from anywhere on any device, including a phone. Updates to projects are made in real-time, too!
